In the development process of ancient Chinese literary theory,various aesthetic categories were formed,such as "qing" "emptiness" "silence" "virtuality and reality" "being and not being",etc.The existence of these aesthetic categories makes various forms of artistic works present a unique charm and endless aftertaste.At the same time,the formation of these categories also reflects the aesthetic connotation of "blank",forming a unique landscape."Blank" has existed for a very long time.The dialectical analysis of the concepts of "being and not being" and "Yin and Yang" in pre-Qin period contains the germination of "blank".The further development of metaphysics in Wei and Jin Dynasties on the basis of Lao Zhuang’ s philosophy also makes "blank" have deeper connotation.There is also the shadow of "blank" everywhere in the art works and critical theories of the Tang and Song dynasties.The development of novels in the Ming and Qing dynasties has become a general view of literature,and it is an important method and principle to set "blank" whether in the creation of novels or in the criticism of novels.In addition to the continuation of time,"blank" also exists in a wide range of art forms,such as poetry,lyrics,music,painting,calligraphy,novels,dramas,movies,landscape architecture and so on.This paper takes the "blank" aesthetics embodied in ancient Chinese literary theory as the entry point,explores its characteristics and development process,and analyzes the "blank" in various forms of art,so as to explore the influence and contemporary significance of "blank".The first chapter mainly explains the emergence and origin of "blank" aesthetics.In ancient Chinese literary theory,there is no clear explanation of the concept of "blank",but it reflects the beauty of "blank" everywhere.The generation of "blank" beauty has a profound ideological origin and theoretical basis,and various art forms also have the embodiment of "blank","blank" has become a unique beauty.The second chapter mainly focuses on the "blank" in poetics."Blank" exists in the whole process of artistic creation.It is necessary to have "blank" psychological preparation before creation,discard all miscellaneous thoughts and keep a blank heart.At the same time,the "blank" in artistic creation is also a way to realize the charm of works.Connoisseurs also need to maintain a clear state of mind when analyzing works of art,to feel the meaning that cannot be conveyed in the works in an intuitive way,and to reflect the infinite "blank" beauty.And theorists also regard whether artistic works have "blank" as one of the criteria to evaluate poetic artistic works.The third chapter focuses on the "leave blank" in the calligraphy theory and painting theory and the "blank" in the garden."Leave blank" is one of the most unique creative techniques in Chinese painting and calligraphy art.It has the same aspect with "blank",but there are also some differences."Leave blank" is formed under the comprehensive action of various factors.Its appearance in the calligraphy theory and painting theory has produced great significance and value,and has become one of the methods to show the meaning of artistic works.The "blank" in the garden art is also influenced by the "leave blank" in the painting,which makes the space of the garden three-dimensional.The "leave blank" in the painting has been reflected in the garden to different degrees.The fourth chapter mainly focuses on the "blank" in novels and dramas.In the creation of narrative works,due to the limitations of language and intentional settings,the creation subject will adopt various narrative means to reduce irrelevant and indescribable content in the process of creation,thus forming the "blank" in the narrative.When evaluating novels and dramas,analyzing the "blank" in them has become a way to study the artistic charm of the works.The fifth chapter discusses the influence of "blank" and its contemporary significance on the basis of the above analysis.With the continuous intersection of Chinese and western literary theories,Chinese theorists have also reinterpreted "blank",which makes "blank" aesthetics get further development.However,the "blank" in Chinese and western literary theories also has some differences on the basis of the unique aesthetic effect,which is worthy of further study and analysis.In the theoretical context of the new era,the influence of "blank" aesthetics has inspired contemporary art creation,"blank" has new significance and value,and provides new vitality for contemporary art creation.
