The Form Of Tranquility

Art is a product of the human spirit,an abstract thing derived from material existence.Artists are born in times and create works of art that reflect the spirit of times and individuals.Every real work of art has a tendency to leave the world.Tranquility is a kind of spiritual perception and internal pursuit of the objective world.Painting is a "meaningful form",and the form of painting is one of the important factors to create the atmosphere of the picture.Alex Colville,a Canadian painter known for his rationality and order,has always presented a sense of philosophical tranquility in his paintings.This paper takes Colville’s painting as an example,through the analysis of Colville’s life experience and painting works of "tranquility",and then discusses the painting form containing the sense of tranquility.Try to make their own artistic creation in the form of language and artistic thought can have a breakthrough.This paper is divided into three chapters.The first chapter analyzes the reasons for the construction of the sense of serenity in Colville’s paintings from two aspects: the sense of serenity in his paintings and the reasons for the sense of serenity in Colville’s paintings.The second chapter is the formal language analysis of the sense of tranquility in Colville’s paintings.This chapter is also the focus of the full text,which is composed of three aspects: The first section from the selection of painting form,the image layout of the composition,the meaning of the frame frame to study the sense of tranquility in the structure of the picture;The second section studies the characteristics of the image modeling of the sense of tranquility from four aspects: the viewpoint of the picture,the expressionless and facial concealment,the simplicity of the image and the mechanical character modeling.The third section studies the application of brush strokes and gray tones in the quiet atmosphere.The third chapter,based on the above research,expounds the inspiration of the author’s painting creation,the choice of the subject of personal creation and the practical application of the painting form with a sense of tranquility in his own creation.
