Moral judgment is the individual’s evaluation of the right or wrong of a certain behavior according to certain standards, and making choices and judgments. The framing effect is due to the fact that people have different cognition and understanding of the problem, which leads to opposite selection tendencies in the case of different but equivalent descriptions of the same problem. In the research on the problem of the trolley dilemma, the framework effect in the field of moral judgment was found when described in save and killing terms, respectively. In the study of decision-making framework and thinking style, individuals with a holistic thinking style are easily affected by the text expression framework, resulting in a framing effect;while individuals with an analytical thinking style are not significantly affected by the framework. Therefore, this article mainly examines whether the moral framework effect is affected by the way of thinking, and the specific impact of the way of thinking on moral judgment under the same framework. This paper consists of two studies:Study 1 uses the Analysis-Holism Scale to measure the individual’s thinking style, and examines the individual’s influence on moral judgment under the actor-observer framework and save-kill framework. The results show that:(1)The main effect of thinking style is significant.Compared with the analytic way of thinking, the individual moral judgment score of the holistic way of thinking presents a deontological judgment;(2)The framework main effect is significant.Compared with the actor framework and the save framework,in the observer framework and killing framework, individuals are more inclined to make deontological moral judgments;(3)The interaction between thinking style and framework is significant.Individuals with holistic thinking style have significant differences in the scores of moral judgments in the two types of frameworks, and the framing effect is obvious;while the individual scores of analytical thinking style are not significantly different, and the framing effect is not obvious. In the second study, the pronoun task and self-construction method were used to activate the holistic thinking style and the analytical thinking style respectively, and investigated the influence of different thinking styles on moral judgment in the actor-observer framework and save-kill framework. The results show that:(1)The main effect of thinking style is significant.Compared with the analytical thinking style, the moral judgment scores of individuals with the holistic thinking style show a deontological tendency;(2)The main effect of the framework is significant.Compared with the actor framework and save framework, individuals tend to make deontological moral judgments under the observer framework and killing framework;(3)The interaction between thinking style and framework is significant.Individuals with holistic thinking style have significant differences in the scores of moral judgments in the two types of frameworks, and the framing effect is obvious;while the individual scores of analytical thinking style are not significantly different, and the framing effect is not obvious.Based on the results of the above two studies, the main conclusion of this paper is as follows: Compared with analytical thinking, holistic thinking is more influenced by framework in moral judgment.
