| In 1950,Gibson proposed the concept of optical flow,in the process of human movement,it will form relative movement with surrounding objects, and the objects in the environment are projected on the human retina, thus forming a dynamic light pattern, which is optical flow.Optical flow not only contains information in the surrounding environment, but also contains information about the individual’s own movement, which can help people perceive the heading of movement,so it has a great impact on the individual’s life and movement. In the perception of the heading of movement based on optical flow, there are two important influencing factors, one is the impact of recent experience, that is,the combination of the previous stimulus and the previous stimulus in the previous period on the perception of the current heading of motion, and the other is the impact of historical experience, that is,the impact on human evolution and daily life experience. At present, the research of the two influencing factors is independent of each other, and in other fields, such as facial recognition, ethical decision-making,and other fields,it has been found that when there is a conflict between the two experiences, people combine the two experiences to make simultaneous judgments(PICC).This study looks at whether and how recent and historical experiences simultaneously influence the perception of heading of motion based on optical flow.Based on the research,we found that there are two forms of conflict between recent and historical experience, one is that the probability of stimuli appearing in different heading of movement is different in the same area,so we designed the study 1 with stimuli in four distribution modes(smoothing mode, hillside mode, valley mode, mountain peak mode)as the independent variable.Second, the distribution of motion heading is different in the region,so the study 2 is designed with three distributions(left distribution, right distribution, and center distribution)as independent variables.Using different stimuli as independent variables, the two studies explored whether recent and historical experiences simultaneously influenced the perception of heading of movement based on optical flow, and if so,how. In this study, the actual direction of motion information of optical flow is simulated by MATLAB programming, and the method of fitting equations is adopted to comprehensively explore the influence of recent and historical experience on the perception of optical flow heading through two studies. The following conclusions were obtained:(1)The PICC phenomenon exists in the field of optical flow, and recent experience and historical experience will affect the perception of heading at the same time;(2)People will judge the heading of movement perception based on recent experience and historical experience. This study proves for the first time that the perception of the heading of movement of recent experience and historical experience is not independent of each other, but combines two experiences to perceive and judge the heading of movement. This provides new ideas for future research on the perception of heading. At the same time, how to use the influence of the two experiences to provide more theoretical guidance for better service in life, how patients with impaired motion perception can return to normal state through training faster, and improve the accuracy of heading perception during driving to reduce the occurrence of traffic accidents. |
