Purpose:To observe the clinical efficacy of warming yang invigorating the spleen and diuretic water combined with betahistine in the treatment of Meniere’s disease(Phlegm-turbid obstruction syndrome),so as to carry out the treatment of Meniere’s disease(Phlegm-turbid obstruction syndrome)by Wenyang invigorating the spleen and diuresis combined with betahistine. Objective evaluation is expected to provide a new method and idea for the treatment of Meniere’s disease, and also to provide relevant clinical basis for the next step to explore the mechanism of action of combined traditional Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of Meniere’s disease.Material and method:Patients who were diagnosed with Meniere’s disease from December 2019 to September 2021 in the ENT outpatient department of the Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected, and the TCM syndrome was phlegm turbidity and middle resistance type.Based on the principle of parallelism,70 subjects who met the inclusion criteria were entered into the trial in the order of their visits and in the order of the numbers on the table, and were randomly divided into the control group(betahistine group)and the experimental group(betahistine combined with Wenyangjian). There were 35 cases in each group.During the treatment,2 cases in the control group dropped out,and 1 case in the experimental group dropped out,and a total of67 cases were finally included. The course of treatment lasted for 28 days. Both groups filled in the dizziness handicap inventory(DHI)and tinnitus evaluation questionnaire(TEQ),visual analogue scale(VAS)for ear fullness, and pure-tone audiometry and cochleography were performed before and after treatment.Results:1.Comparison of DHI scale scores: There were statistically significant differences in DHI scale scores between the two groups before and after 28 days of treatment and between groups after 28 days of treatment(P<0.05),and the treatment group was better than the control group.2.Comparison of TEQ scores: There were statistically significant differences in TEQ scores between the two groups before treatment and after 28 days of treatment, and between groups after 28 days of treatment(P<0.05),and the treatment group was better than the control group.3.Comparison of VAS scores of ear fullness: There were statistically significant differences in the VAS scores of ear fullness before and after 28 days of treatment between the two groups(P<0.05),and the treatment group was better than the control group.4.In terms of pure-tone hearing thresholds: The pure tone hearing thresholds were compared between the two groups before treatment and after 28 days of treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the mean pure tone hearing threshold between the groups after 28 days of treatment(P>0.05).5.In terms of electrocochleography: the SP/AP values of electrocochleography were compared between the two groups before treatment and after 28 days of treatment, and between the groups after 28 days of treatment, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05),and the treatment group was better than control group.6.Comparison of clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine: the total effective rate of the experimental group was 85.3%,and the total effective rate of the control group was 66.7%.7.Safety analysis: During the clinical observation period, none of the 67 patients had adverse events related to the drug used in this trial, and no obvious abnormality was found in the laboratory safety indicators. Conclusion: The method of warming yang, strengthening the spleen and diuretic water combined with Minshilan has a significant clinical effect in the treatment of Meniere’s disease(phlegm turbidity and obstruction syndrome),and can improve the symptoms of dizziness, hearing loss, tinnitus, and ear fullness. The overall effect is better than that of using Minshilan alone, has high safety, and can be further promoted and researched.
