Adolescents are generally considered to be at high risk for suicidal ideation, with the incidence of suicidal ideation in adolescents ranging from 10.5% to 31.5%.As the most important part of suicidal behavior, suicidal ideation is very dangerous to teenagers. Therefore, teenagers’ suicidal ideation has been paid more and more attention.Through the review of previous literature,it is found that suicidal ideation usually begins in junior school, and emotional factors and cognitive emotional factors are two important risk factors for the occurrence of suicidal ideation in junior school adolescents. Therefore, this study selected depression,a common emotional factor, and rumination,a common cognitive factor, based on the Escape Theory of Suicide,CognitiveTheoretical Model of Suicide,Stress-vulnerability model and Differential Activation Theory of Suicidality,to examine the impact of emotional factors and cognitive factors on the suicidal ideation of junior middle school students and adolescents. In this study, the Center for Epidemiological Survey Depression scale,Ruminative Responses Scale and Suicide Ideation/Suicide Attempt Scale were used to follow up the First grade students of a middle school in Tianjin three times, once every six months, and finally 309 effective subjects were tracked. In the first study, the changes of depression, rumination and suicidal ideation in three measures of junior middle school students were investigated. In the second study, the crosshysteresis model was constructed to investigate the longitudinal effects of depression and rumination on the delayed prediction of suicidal ideation in junior middle school students. In the third study, the cross-hysteresis model was constructed to test the cross-temporal mediating effect of rumination on depression and suicidal ideation in junior middle school students. The main results of this study are as follows:(1)Depression,rumination and suicidal ideation of junior middle school students showed changes in the three measurements, but the trend was different. The mean results of three measurements show that the depression level of junior high school students presents a gradually increasing trend; The rumination thinking of junior high school students showed a trend of decreasing first and then increasing; The suicidal ideation of junior high school students showed a trend of increasing first and then decreasing.(2)Depression and rumination have positive delayed predictive effects on suicide ideation of junior middle school students.(3)Depression at time point 1 can positively delay rumination at time point 2,rumination at time point 2 can positively delay suicidal ideation at time point 3,rumination has a cross-time mediating effect between depression and suicidal ideation in junior middle school students. In conclusion, this study reveals the risk factors of junior high school students’ suicidal ideation from the perspective of longitudinal research, providing empirical support for the prevention and intervention of junior high school students’ suicidal ideation, and also suggests that parents and teachers can re-examine the negative impact of emotional factors and cognitive factors on junior high school students’ suicidal ideation from the perspective of development. In conclusion, this study explores the risk factors of suicidal ideation in junior middle school students from the perspective of longitudinal research, providing empirical research support for effective discovery and intervention of suicidal ideation in junior middle school students, and also suggests that parents and teachers should pay more attention to the potential long-term impact of emotional factors and cognitive factors on the generation of suicidal ideation in junior middle school students.
