The Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal is a worldwide cultural miracle created by the Chinese nation.It is also an important civilization symbol of the Chinese nation and the crystallization of the Millennium wisdom of the ancient working people.Due to the time-consuming and laborious excavation of the canal,it was mainly for the purpose of military activities at first,but after the formation and connection of the canal,it gradually changed the environment along the canal,and then changed the spatial characteristics of cities along the canal.The canal and the cities along it interact with each other.Cities are born of canals,which are dug for cities.Taking the state and county-level cities along the Cangzhou section of the Grand Canal as the main research object,this paper explores the spatial distribution of cities along the canal and analyzes its influencing factors through multi-disciplinary research methods such as literature research,field investigation,historical investigation,comparative analysis and quantitative research,so as to promote the effective protection and planning of cities along the Grand Canal under the background of the times.This paper mainly includes the following four parts:Part Ⅰ: Research on the development and changes of Cangzhou section of the Grand Canal and the cities along it.Starting from the historical evolution of the Cangzhou section of the Grand Canal from the Wei Dynasty to the Ming and Qing Dynasties,this paper focuses on the development and role of the Cangzhou section of the Grand Canal in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,and finally focuses on the formation and development of the cities along the Grand Canal,so as to lay a foundation for the research part of urban spatial form later.Part Ⅱ: Study on the spatial relationship of county-level cities along the Cangzhou section of the Grand Canal.From the macro scale,clarify the location relationship of cities along the Cangzhou section of the Grand Canal.From the perspectives of city and river,city and city,city and town,this paper explains the framework and organization relationship of cities along the Cangzhou section of the Grand Canal under the canal management system.Part Ⅲ: Research on morphological characteristics of county-level cities along the Cangzhou section of the Grand Canal.From the outside to the inside,from the macro and micro,this paper analyzes and summarizes the morphological characteristics of cities along the canal from the aspects of boundary shape,urban skeleton,node space,important buildings and so on.Part Ⅳ: Research on the characteristics and influencing factors of cities along the state and county level in Cangzhou section of the Grand Canal.On the basis of clarifying the location distribution and spatial characteristics of cities along the Cangzhou section of the Grand Canal,based on the comparison of the functional characteristics of cities along the Grand Canal and the regional characteristics of cities in Hejian Prefecture,this paper summarizes the influencing factors of urban spatial form along the Cangzhou section of the Grand Canal,and re recognizes the value.Under the background of the post application era of the Grand Canal,the construction of the Grand Canal National Park,the planning of the second phase of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project and the construction of the canal cultural belt,this paper analyzes the urban spatial form along the county-level in Cangzhou section of the Grand Canal in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,in order to enrich and improve the heritage value of the Grand Canal and promote the protection and development of cities along the Grand Canal in the post heritage era,Finally,it plays an exemplary role in the construction of the canal cultural belt in Hebei Province.
