| The continuation writing is a newly introduced type of English writing in senior high school.The students and teachers are on the road to explore good ways to teach and practice this kind of writing.So how to adjust the way of writing training in daily teaching so that students can better adapt to the change is a question worthy of considering and exploring for teachers.However,in daily teaching,researcher found that many students got low writing scores,showing little confidence in the continuation writing task and their writing abilities are far from satisfactory.To solve these problems,researcher conducted an action research among 50 students in a high school in Guangdong Province for 20 weeks to explore the influence of Process Approach on the continuation writing,trying to answer the three questions:1.How to apply Process Approach to the continuation writing task in senior high school?2.Can the Process Approach prompt the senior high school students’ interest and confidence for continuation writing task?3.Can the Process Approach improve the senior high school students’ writing competence in continuation writing task?The study adopted Process Approach and collected data and verified the experiment results through the data of three tests,interviews,classroom observation and teaching log.It is found that a set of feasible and effective teaching mode formed by using Process Approach to guide the teaching of continuation writing in senior high school has improved students’ interest in writing to a certain extent.The students’ overall writing abilities have been improved,which is reflected in the significant improvement of students’ performance in continuation writing in terms of the length of writing,the richness and nationality of content,the organization and the use of language.The results of the study set light to teachers in senior high school on this effective approach in their continuation writing teaching. |
