Electric guitar music“Wonderful Slippery Thing”is one of the representative works of Guthrie Govan,a famous contemporary British electric guitar player.As an electric guitar solo with music style,it has a new role in promoting the creation and performance of electric guitar music,and has become a classic repertoire in the teaching and performance of electric guitar.After more than half a century of development,electric guitar playing skills have become mature.Govan has made a breakthrough on the basis of traditional playing skills through long-term performing arts practice and intensive research,which makes this music full of distinctive personal characteristics in the music context and unique playing skills.It has become a dazzling pearl in the history of modern electric guitar playing art.This paper analyzes the work from three chapters.The first chapter is the introduction of the author and music overview;the second chapter is the analysis of music characteristics;the third chapter mainly analyzes the playing techniques of music.Through the analysis of the performance of the song,combined with year of experience in the practice of electric guitar playing,Govan’s music style and playing art,to make a more objective and detailed interpretation.
