On The Practice Of Water Method In Landscape Painting

"Methods of using water" is an expressive technique with the same benefits as brushwork and ink method in the creation of Chinese landscape painting.In the historical development process of landscape painting,from Wang Wei’s "broken– ink" and Dong Yuan and Ju Ran’s "flat and innocent",to the high maturity of the Song Dynasty’s ink landscape and the Yuan Dynasty’s pen and ink affection,and then to Huang Binhong’s "Seven Ink Methods",the use of water law has actually evolved with the development of traditional pen and ink.Based on this,the practical exploration of the use of the water method of landscape painting should first be carried out on the basis of studying traditional brush and ink,studying the classic landscapes of the traditional understanding the spirit of the ancient people’s pen and ink,and then entering the nature to understand the wonders of the real landscape,exploring the deeper meaning of the use of water law in pen and ink,so as to inspire oneself to learn from the past.This paper first combines the stylistic characteristics of specific works and the writings of painting theory in the context of the development of landscape painting,summarizes the evolution and development mode of the use of water method,and then conducts temporary study and study of the classic works of previous generations,so as to initially understand the relationship between water method and brush method and ink method in traditional brush and ink,and the type of technique used in traditional landscape water method;finally,on the basis of its own practice,we analyze the perception obtained in traditional brush and ink and the experience of water method use in landscape sketching.The expression of the use of water law is further explored and reflected.
