Jiangnan painting occupies an extremely important position in the history of painting.The article mainly explores the context of Jiangnan painting from the perspectives of the geographical scope of Jiangnan,Jiangnan cultural customs,Jiangnan painting style,and Jiangnan painting theory,and takes Jiangnan landscape painting as the main object of investigation.This paper analyzes the historical evolution of the geographical location of "Jiangnan",and defines the geographical scope of "Jiangnan" according to the current geographical location.2.Discuss the geomorphology of Jiangnan,the motifs formed by Jiangnan poetry,and the customs and culture of Jiangnan in painting,with the purpose of discussing the multiple connotations in the context of Jiangnan painting.3.Inspect the aesthetic characteristics and development of Jiangnan paintings from the Northern Song Dynasty to the Ming and Qing Dynasties,aiming to clarify the inheritance relationship of Jiangnan paintings.The composition and development of "Jiangnan" painting theory is discussed,mainly from Zhang Yanyuan’s first proposal of the concept of "Jiangnan"painting,until Dong Qichang’s new theoretical definition of "Jiangnan"landscape,marking the final establishment of the Jiangnan painting context in theory.4.Summarize the aesthetic characteristics of Jiangnan paintings,namely the unique brush and ink of Jiangnan landscapes and the "plain,"naive"aesthetic style of Jiangnan landscapes.The chart is a more comprehensive tabulation of the historical context of Jiangnan painting.
