Research On The Concept Of Love In Chinese Pop Music From The Perspective Of Emotional Structure (2001-2020

Since ancient times,love has been an eternal topic in life,and it is also the object of constant praise from many scholars and writers.Love is a unique and beautiful emotion for anyone.As Hao Bin,a famous psychologist in my country said,"Love is the strongest yearning,intimacy,attachment,and the great emotion that is all-encompassing between people." As one of the most popular forms of popular culture in contemporary times,pop music can reflect the face of social life and the spiritual world of the public to a certain extent,so it must also include a lot of content related to love.At the same time,the content of love in pop music contains quite rich emotions,which is a common feeling and experience of the public for love in a specific era.Therefore,the author believes that whether it is the theoretical needs of social and cultural research or the practical needs of the public in real love,exploring the concept of love in contemporary Chinese pop music has certain research value.Through the content analysis of the lyric texts of contemporary Chinese popular music,this research explores the concept of love contained in it,so as to understand the various attitudes and love experiences of contemporary people in love.In the research,mainly using the original concept "structure of feeling" of the famous British cultural theorist Raymond Williams as a theoretical tool,the pop music is investigated in this perspective.First of all,the author selected two representative music charts,the Oriental Billboard and the Music Radio China Top Chart,as the research object,and selected a total of 356 annual mainland golden songs from the two popular music charts from2001 to 2020 as the research objects.For the research sample,refer to Su Zhensheng and Xiao Ping’s research on Taiwan pop music content to establish a category,and on this basis,code and analyze the lyrics text,and preliminarily draw the concept of love contained in contemporary Chinese pop music.Secondly,the semi-structured in-depth interview method was used to conduct corresponding interviews with 10 audiences who love pop music from different industries to observe their understanding of pop music and their own love experience,and further supplement the results obtained from the content analysis,so as to better explore the interaction between contemporary popular music and the structure of mass emotion.Finally,through the arrangement and combination of lyrics analysis and interview content,it is found that contemporary pop music presents a world of love that is rich in emotion and full of contradictions,in which the intertwining of pain and happiness,the contradiction between self and others,and the conflict between ideal and reality are common.In pop songs,it reflects the unique feelings of contemporary people in love life,and the pessimism,conservative depression,utopian fantasy and self-sense scattered in pop songs are the true presentation of the unique emotional structure of contemporary people.In this complex structure of feeling,it is full of values shared by contemporary people,from which a unique view of love that is common in contemporary society is found.Contemporary people’s concept of love is like a complex combination of contradictions,both pessimistic and negative,and there is no lack of pursuit of beauty.It not only inherits the conservative and implicit tradition,but also shows a certain degree of openness.
