William Turner is a monument in the history of British landscape.His seascape paintings have different styles in different periods.He added more feelings on current social phenomena and thoughts on human nature to his pictures,which were full of solemn and stirring emotions and highlighted the tension of life.This paper explores the changes,painting styles and techniques of William Turner’s seascape paintings in the middle and late period,and studies the uniqueness of his seascape paintings and their influence on later generations.Firstly,it analyzes the historical background,life experience and style influence of William Turner.The promotion of industrial revolution,the guidance of William van der Velde Jr.and the influence of Baroque art are also important factors for the formation of the characteristics of William Turner’s seascape paintings.Secondly,by sorting out his representative seascape paintings and using image analysis method to analyze the main characteristics of his seascape paintings in different periods,William Turner had unique views on the creation of picture atmosphere and the expression of subjective consciousness.As well as the artistic characteristics,painting style and techniques presented by him in the picture are perfectly integrated with the solemn and stirring colors in the picture.Finally,inductive analysis is used to summarize the documentary nature of William Turner’s seascape paintings in the middle and late period to promote the diversity of later painting themes and the unique artistic language of his seascape paintings to impressionism. |
