Research On Liu Yuxi's Pros

The ancient prose movement in the mid-Tang Dynasty was a milestone in the history of prose.As an important representative in the literary world at that time,Liu Yuxi was not only nourished by the ancient prose movement,but also had an important influence on the development of ancient prose.On the basis of summarizing and carrying forward the innovative advantages of ancient prose,always maintains its own creative rhythm,and the works are unique and show a unique artistic style.Liu Yuxi’s literary style is influenced by his political career: throughout his life,he entered the official post with a scientific examination in the early stage,and successively served as secretary-in-chief,supervising censor and other positions.Most of his prose creations are related to politics,with rigorous wording,neat structure,and style.Most of them are statutes,tables,chapters,etc.In the later period,due to the implication of Yongzheng’s reform,they were moved to a place of exile.The types of literary styles involved in the article are more abundant,and the content includes views on people’s livelihood issues,social abuses,and political reforms.Literary innovation,friends’ opinions,compilation of prefaces,etc.Although he has been relegated for more than 20 years,living in a remote place and living in difficult conditions,such an environment has instead promoted the prosperity of his creation.New changes have been shown in the use of sentence patterns,language applications,expression techniques,and essay styles,which not only brought a new atmosphere to literature at that time,and were well received by the contemporaries,but also profoundly influenced the works of ancient writers in the Song Dynasty,such as Wang Anshi and Su Shi,and even attracted the attention of many scholars in the Ming and Qing dynasties.But judging from the current research situation in modern times,most of the literature research on Liu Yuxi in the academic circles focuses on poetry,which leads to his poetry becoming more famous and his prose obscuring.To sum up,this article designs to discuss the contribution of Liu Yuxi’s prose in literary style and stylistic innovation from the perspective of social and historical background and personal experience,and to think about his important position in the development history of prose in the Middle Tang Dynasty.This article takes the "Liu Yuxi Ji Jianzheng" written by Qu Shuiyuan as the main reference,and uses the methods of careful reading of the text,document investigation,and combination of literature and history to analyze and study more than 230 prose works,combined with the social background of the Middle Tang Dynasty.And literature trends,explore the generation and circulation of Liu Yuxi’s works,and determine the unique contribution of his prose.The article will be divided into four sections to specific analysis:the first chapter starts with the concept of "prose",determines the scope of this article according to Liu Yuxi’s specific creation,sorts out and summarizes the number of his prose and basic creation situation;the second chapter uses the method of combining literature and history,from the rise of the New Spring and Autumn School,the promotion of the Yongzheng Reform,the development of the ancient prose movement and other backgrounds,explores the internal relationship between the atmosphere of the times and the characteristics of Liu Yuxi’s prose,thereby pointing out the characteristics of prose that are realistic and speculative,and combine his personal experience of relegation and the general characteristics of Yuanhe relegation literature,highlighting the unique high-spirited style of his southern relegation prose,and also analyzes the "historical biography" color in his inscriptions;the third chapter focuses on Liu Yuxi’s improvement of the prose style.Under the background of the retrospective trend of literature in the mid-Tang Dynasty,it expounds the language arrangement of its pleadings,the flexibility of the expression of the writing style,and the strengthening of the lyricism and rationality of the rhetoric,and elaborates on the three aspects.Unique innovation and stylistic contribution;the fourth chapter focuses on the relationship between Liu Yuxi and the ancient prose movement and ancient writers in the Tang and Song Dynasties,as well as the reference of later writers on his prose format and allusions,starting from two aspects of macro and micro,further shows liu Yuxi’s unique position in the ancient prose movement of tang Dynasty and the development of Chinese prose history.
