Managers’ Personality And DUI Mode Of SMEs

The decision-making of managers of SMEs is often an important determinant of whether the enterprise enters into technological innovation,and the personality characteristics of enterprise managers will significantly affect the choice of enterprise strategy.Based on this,this paper takes Private SMEs in Changzhou City,Jiangsu Province as the research object,and measures the openness,agreeableness,conscientiousness,neuroticism and extraversion of enterprise managers through the BFI-44,and analyzes the specific relationship with entering into the DUI innovation mode.And introduce environmental complexity as a moderating variable to observe its specific impact on the personality of SMEs’ managers and entering into the DUI mode.The results show that managers’openness,agreeableness,conscientiousness and extraversion of enterprise managers are positively related to entering the DUI mode,while neuroticism is negatively related to entering the DUI mode.As far as moderating effect be concerned,Environmental complexity has a negative moderating effect on the openness,conscientiousness and extroversion of managers and entering the DUI mode,which will weaken the willingness of enterprise managers to enter into the DUI mode.However,neither neuroticism nor agreeableness has significant moderating effects between them.Accordingly,managers should improve some personality traits according to the corresponding suggestions,pay attention to the negative impact of the complexity of the external environment,and then promote their ability to enter into the DUI mode and effectively implement technological innovation.
