It’s the willow in Nanjing accompanied with the crowing of black birds,which is lost amid the flowers of poplar trees,but you have been drunk and stayed in my home.In the Boshan-based Incense Burner,the burning incense made of fragrant woods is being ignited,and two smoke streams are blended to form a straight smoke as if to surpass the fairyland.” In Luo Yin’s quatrain Xiang(pinyin,meaning incense)described,“the excellent cypress fragrance is ignited in the nice Boshan Burner,and the spring atmosphere throughout the building seems to be warm.” Fortunately,incense vessel,an indispensable carrier of incense culture,was also developed in the context of history and extended in modern life.Presently,people’s pace of life is expediting,and their spiritual life is rich,and they also start to pursue higher level of spiritual realm and aesthetic requirements while meeting basic living requirements.The incense vessel is characterized with traditional cultural heritage,has been gradually recognized and favored by the massed,and are extensively applied in life,work,entertainment,and similar scenes.Especially,the incense vessel,an item with both ornamental and practical value,has gradually become an essential existence in the tea culture.The ceramic incense vessel is affiliated to the category of incense vessels.Viewed from the vast incense vessels market,the styles and varieties of ceramic incense vessel remain to be relatively traditional,and lacks of creativity.It is even more seldom to note ceramic incense vessels with modern design ideas,and it is hard for the masses to accept such traditional models,as people’s lifestyles have improved and changed with the progress of the times,the aesthetic appreciation on a single item also varies,and aesthetic value has also become a more critical element while the features of products are satisfied.Based on the history of traditional ceramic incense vessel culture as well as characteristics of traditional ceramic incense vessel involving the shape,color,function,and other aspects,the project research starts from modern design for ceramic incense vessels,explores associations between traditional ceramic incense vessels and modern life,and summarizes the way to integrate modern aesthetic requirements into the design for ceramic incense vessels.
