| In recent years,domestic suspense films have become popular among movie-goers with their "suspense + brain-burning" and "wisdom + thinking" modes.It has become one of the most popular film genres among audiences.Jacques Lacan,a famous psychoanalyst,based on structuralist linguistics,proposed the "mirror theory" on the basis of modifications and additions to the entire psychoanalytic system,which has become an important theoretical basis for modern Western theoretical research on cinema and has had a profound influence on contemporary philosophy and literature,and cinema is no exception.It has had a profound influence on contemporary philosophy and literature,and film is no exception.This article uses Lacan’s mirror theory as a basis to analyse the content form of Chinese suspense films in the new century.In the process of characterisation in Chinese suspense films,directors often set up a specific character with the help of the other to show the process of the individual from the chaos of the self to the completion of selfconstruction,thus reflecting the plight of the individual in a specific social context.This is why the content of Chinese suspense films in the new century is often a reflection of the mirror image of Chinese society.In this process,the new century Chinese suspense films not only bring the audience mental tension and excitement through suspense-driven narratives,bringing them intense viewing pleasure and a Lacanian mirroring experience under the structure of perspective identity and visual identity,but also enable them to examine themselves and the other and trigger self-projection in the process of viewing the films.In addition,as a carrier of social ideology,Chinese suspense films in the new century carry certain values,and through "suspense + comedy","suspense + espionage" and "suspense + psychology",they strengthen the audience’s need to belong.It also reflects the existence of society in the form of crime,thriller and other violent horror,mapping social problems and building up the audience’s awareness of society as a whole,which has social significance that cannot be ignored.Therefore,on the basis of a systematic review of the new century Chinese suspense films and Lacan’s mirror theory,this dissertation analyses the interpretation of mirror theory in the new century Chinese suspense films from three levels: individual roles,viewing subjects and social significance,so as to analyse the sense of responsibility embedded in the localised expression of the new century Chinese suspense films,supplement the research on the new century Chinese suspense films in terms of mirror theory,and provide a creative counterpoint to the new century Chinese suspense films.The film is a reflection on the creation of domestic suspense films in the new century,seeking new ideas for the future development of domestic suspense films and promoting the benign development of domestic suspense films. |
