2022 Daily Journal Shareholders' Meeting English-Chinese Simultaneous Interpretation Practice Repor

This report is based on the English-Chinese consecutive interpretation practice for the speeches of the shareholders’ meeting of Daily Journal in 2022.The report consists of four parts,namely brief introduction of interpreting tasks,interpreting process,interpreting case analysis,and interpreting summary,among which the part of interpreting case analysis is the core chapter,describing the problems encountered in the interpreting process and proposing the corresponding solutions.The problems include ambiguity of target language,redundancy of target language and translationese of target language.The ambiguity of the target language can be eliminated by using the strategies of semantic explication and free translation according to different situations.For the problem of redundancy of the target language,the strategies of omission and combination can be used to make the interpretation more concise and refined.For avoiding translationese,the word order can be adjusted and active voice can be often used in the target language according to the characteristics of Chinese.This practice report is helpful to find problems with a better understanding of interpretation about the topic of finance and it aims at providing reference for other interpreting learners.
