| English Writing is a significant skill for language production in English learning.There is no doubt that it is of great significance for English learners to master effective writing methods to improve their writing ability.Currently,most students especially those who take English as a Second Language(ESL)have difficulties in writing.In this study,the Sixth Graders of an international school in Tianjin were selected as the experimental class,and the experiment was conducted through the Talk For Writing(T4W)method.This is a process of 3 Ts:Imitation,Innovation,and Invention.T4W is a very creative writing approach that students can use to improve writing skills in a short time.The object of this study is to investigate the impact of the T4W approach on the development of students’ writing skills.Questionnaire survey and comparative experiment are used.The research questions were tested by questionnaire survey and by comparing the data obtained in the experiment.In this study,26 students in Grade Six of Junior school participated,divided into control group 12,experimental group 14.The experiment lasted for four weeks,including a pre-test,a post-test and two questionnaire surveys.The conclusion of this experiment is that T4W can obviously stimulate students’enthusiasm,confidence and writing ability in English writing.Students will consciously imitate and use the language through conversation.At the same time,they will actively review and refer to the language content in the writing process,so as to form effective reading and writing habits.This study aims to explore the effects of T4W teaching methods on the development of students’ writing skills over a short period of time,and to explore students’ perceptions of T4W.I hope this excellent writing method can be offered to more English teachers and schools in China. |
