Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages has become the cause of the country and the nation.The domestic Chinese teaching undertaking and overseas Chinese education are developing steadily,so the demand for Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages talents is also increasing.However,with the expansion of the enrollment scale of master’s degree students in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages,corresponding problems have emerged in the training.Some students have changed their degree of professional identity during learning,which has affected the quality of professional learning and the future development direction.Therefore,it is important to understand the current status and development of students’ professional identities,and explore the influencing factors of professional identity.In this study,the 2021 master’s degree students Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages from Beijing Foreign Studies University are taken as the research object.Followup interviews are taken as the main research method with the questionnaire as the assistive tool.During the interviews,the interviewees are asked to draw a dynamic trajectory map of their professional identity.The purpose of this paper is to study the overall status,subdimension status and influencing factors of the professional identity of these master’s students.This paper divides professional identity into four sub-dimensions,namely professional cognition,professional appropriateness,professional emotion,and professional behavior.It is found that the all four sub-dimensions are trending upward.The highest degree is professional cognition.Professional appropriateness and professional emotion are in the middle degree.The degree of professional behavior is the lowest.At the same time,there is an interaction between subdimensions:Professional cognition is the basis of professional appropriateness.Professional cognition and professional appropriateness are the basis of professional emotion.Professional emotion is the key to professional identity.Professional emotion promotes the development of professional behavior,and the results of professional behavior enhance professional cognition.The overall development of professional identity has shown a steady growth trend.Through the dynamic trajectory map of professional identity,it can be seen that the development of professional identity presents the following characteristics:First,the interviewees’ professional recognition development can be characterized by stages;Second,interviewees recognized different trends in professional recognition;Third,the level of professional recognition of interviewees can be divided into three categories.Each category is represented by one interviewee for case analysis.Combined with the coding and summarization of the interview text,this paper concludes the main influencing factors affecting the professional identity of the master’s students,which can be divided into four aspects:individual factors,family environment,professional training environment,and employment prospects.The mechanism of influencing factors and professional identity formation is that professional training environment and employment prospects directly affect professional identity,and family environment indirectly affects professional identity through individual factors.On this basis,we discuss the improvement of professional identity from three aspects.First,the individual level should enhance professional quality and transformation ability,and exert subjective initiative;Second,the school should innovate training model,and provide accurate employment guidance;Finally,the society should be vigorously publicized through new media to improve social recognition,and the state may provide employment security to alleviate students’ employment difficulties.
