Research On Network Euphemism Under Conceptual Integration Theory

Euphemism is a common language phenomenon in human communication.Different from general euphemism,network euphemism has a more flexible form and meaning construction process because of its unique environment.This study uses the conceptual integration theory to analyze network euphemism,providing a new idea for the study of network euphemism,and providing a method for the public to understand network euphemism.We collected 81 network euphemisms from Xinhua Online Language Dictionary,Chinese New Words,Sina Weibo,Popular Words Encyclopedia and other online social networking platforms as research objects to analyze the meaning construction of network euphemisms.We analyze the meaning construction of network euphemisms based on the simple,mirror,single domain and dual domain conceptual integration networks of conceptual integration theory,on the premise of the network euphemisms of phonetics,vocabulary semantic and glyphs classified by means of composition.Among them,the meaning construction of phonetics network euphemism is mainly understood through simple networks.The vocabulary semantic network euphemism has the most complete interpretation types,including four conceptual integration networks,of which the single domain network is the most commonly used.The glyphs network euphemism mainly explains its meaning construction through simple network and mirror network.Then it makes a comparative study of the formation means and meaning construction of network euphemism and other network languages.Although they seem to be the same,nuances exist.From the perspective of formation means,other network languages are more abundant.From the perspective of meaning construction,the meaning construction process of network euphemism is accompanied by the weakening of derogatory,negative or stimulating meanings,while the color meanings of other network languages have no obvious changes.
