A Study Of The Works Of The Peripheral Writers Of The New Sensation

The Chinese New Sensation School,as an important branch of the Sea School literature,flourished in Shanghai in the 1930s,and three mainstream writers made this genre a solid three-legged stand.However,there were several other distinctive peripheral writers who were active in this fashionable camp,and their convergence undoubtedly broadened the artistic life of the Neo-Sensationalist novels,making the Neo-Sensationalists spurt out a more splendid and full-bodied artistic spark.In the existing studies,the analysis of the works of the peripheral writers of the New Sensation School is not sufficient,and the assessment of their historical status and artistic value is insufficient.The author believes that the importance and absorption of peripheral writers is conducive to the enrichment of the cultural texture of the New Sensation School,and that only by exploring their works as a whole can the literary value of the New Sensation School on multiple levels be explored more comprehensively and completely.This paper is divided into four parts,including an introduction,a text,and a conclusion,taking the works of three mainstream writers,including Mu Shiying,and the works of Japanese neo-sensationalists represented by Yokomitsu Riichi,as the main objects of study.The introduction includes an overview of the study,as well as a necessary explanation of the value and significance of the selected topic,the current status of the study,and the research methodology.The first chapter outlines the triple themes presented in the works of the peripheral writers of the New Sensation School,which can be regarded as the most prominent triple themes of the genre.The works of the Neo-Sensationalists are not as objective and ambitious as the realist literature,but are often relatively indirect and obscure,and they are good at insinuating the main idea of the works through human feelings,emotions,psychology,language and other aspects,rather than just relying on the heavy description of the real environment.This paper summarizes the themes of the New Sensationalists’works into three major parts:trauma psychology,existential dilemmas,and the search for dreams,which overlap but are different from each other.The second chapter analyzes the character types in the works of the peripheral writers of the New Sensation School.Under the sensitive and delicate writing of the writers,the love and hate,joy and sorrow of urban people are presented in a very secret and vivid way.The characters’ unfortunate lives and encounters,as well as their destined tragic fates,are a true reflection of the life course of urban social groups.The third chapter focuses on the distinctive and rich symbolism in the works of the Neo-Sensationalist peripheral writers.Through a comparative study of similar works,we explore the specific symbolic meanings of desert,disease,mother,flowers,and animals in the plot,content,theme,and character characteristics of the works,and further grasp the deeper meanings of the works,which is the innovation of this paper.The fourth chapter appreciates the modern forms of expression used experimentally by the peripheral writers of the New Sensation School.Taking the works of the representative writers of the New Sensation School in Japan and the three mainstream writers in China as reference,the modern techniques in the peripheral works are slightly thin and sparse,but there are no lack of unique highlights and desirable points.During the brief period of leniency when they boldly tried and innovated modern expression techniques,the peripheral writers made indelible contributions.The analysis is mainly based on four aspects:narrative means,language,sensory kinetics,and subjective sensory impressions.The concluding section summarizes the respective creative styles and creative laws of the peripheral writers of the New Sensation School,including their shortcomings,and makes a relatively objective and fair position on the literary and artistic values of their contributions.
