| This report is written under the guidance of Interpretive Theory and is based on the simulated interpretation practice of the speeches on the “Apollo Eco Conference Intelligent Transportation Sub-forum”.Intelligent transportation is a future trend and a hot spot of social concern nowadays. However,at present, there is a lack of interpretation practice and research in this field because of its strong professionalism, and the quality of interpretation needs to be improved. Therefore, the interpreter chose the “Apollo Eco Conference Intelligent Transportation Sub-forum” as a practical content and carried out simulated consecutive interpretation with the Interpretive Theory as a guide, attempting to make contributions to the research on the interpretation of intelligent transportation. The Interpretive Theory emphasizes understanding the source language, breaking away from the shell of the source language, and re-expressing in the target language.Given the features of immediacy and flexibility of consecutive interpreting, quick understanding and proper separation from the form of the source language are demanded. Thus Interpretive Theory is quite relevant to guide this report.Combining theoretical basis and practical cases, this report explores the writer’s interpreting performance from the three aspects of comprehension, deverbalization, and re-expression,offering an insight into her application of the Interpretive Theory and the concomitant experience.Through the analysis,it can be concluded that an interpreter,in order to improve the ability of comprehension, can predicate and prepare for terminology in advance and constantly learn slang in the English language. To enhance the ability of de-verbalization,discourse logic should be straightened out to find out the speaker’s real intention.Meanwhile, expanding knowledge scope and grasping the cultural implications carried by words are also required for an interpreter to achieve effective communication. To increase the ability of re-expression,more attention should be paid to the diction and sentence structure similarities and discrepancies between the two languages so as to convey information to the target audience in a more acceptable manner. The interpreter hopes that this report will have implications for interpretation practice in this field and help interpreters recognize the characteristics of intelligent transportation interpretation so that they can prepare and respond in a targeted manner, continuously improve their interpretation skills and optimize their interpretation effects. |
