The relationship between language and cognition has always been the focus of cognitive linguistics.The word "month" has appeared in the oracle bone,and it is one of the original important words in The Chinese language,recording and reflecting the early relationship between people’s language and cognition and its development and changes.Observing and sorting out the semantic expansion process of Chinese "month" helps us to deepen our understanding of the relationship between language and cognition.This paper uses the concept metaphor theory,concept metonymy theory and concept integration theory in cognitive semantics to explore the semantic construction process of the "month" argument,try to sort out the morpheme "month" from the initial moon meaning term to other moon meaning terms,and then use the moon meaning term to participate in the construction of the entire context of the semantic process of the semantic process,trying to explain the relationship between language and cognition and its development process with this example.The research in this paper helps us to deepen our understanding of the relationship between language and cognition,and also helps to make the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language vocabulary more in line with cognitive laws,so as to achieve effective teaching purposes.The sections of this article are arranged as follows:The first chapter is an introduction,which mainly introduces the significance,ideas and methods of research,in addition,it also defines the research objects and reviews the relevant existing research results.The second chapter is the Chinese "month" of the meaning of the term system,focusing on how the moon meaning term from the most basic moon meaning term to other meanings of the process,in the process of semantic expansion of this meaning item,the concept metaphor thinking and concept metaphor thinking played a role,and finally sorted out the entire system of the moon meaning term.The third chapter is the semantics of the word "month" in the composition of the language.Mainly on the basis of discussing the relationship between idiom literal meaning and deep meaning,the classification criteria of idioms are sorted out,and finally the semantic classification of "month" character parameters is carried out by using the method of semantic categories.Then,on this basis,the relationship between the lunar term and the idiom semantics is explored.From the comparison between the semantics of the lunar term vocabulary and the semantic semantics,it can be found that on the one hand,the lunar term has a certain restrictive effect on the semantics of the idiom,and at the same time,after adding other constitutive morphemes,it is also possible to break through the limitations of the semantics of the words of the lunar terms,and realize the refinement of expression and the expansion of semantic categories.The fourth chapter is the conceptual integration of the "month" character to constitute semantic semantics,focusing on the synthesis process of idiom semantics,which can clearly see the specific process of the participation of the moon meaning item in the construction of semantics,and can also clarify the important role played by people’s conceptual metaphorical thinking,conceptual metaphorical thinking and conceptual integration cognition mode in the process of integration of idiom semantics.The fifth chapter is a discussion of the motives for the formation of the "month" word.We believe that the motivation of idiom generation can be mainly divided into internal motivation of language and external motivation of language.Internal motives of language include idiom semantic characteristics and structural characteristics of idiom symmetry;external motives of language include cognitive factors,pragmatic factors and cultural factors.The sixth chapter is the concluding remarks,which summarize the main ideas,innovations,and shortcomings of this article. |
