The Beauty of Chuang Tzu is a classical book written by Liu Dongying,a professor at Heilongjiang University.The author selects the first nine chapters as the translation practice text.The selected text mainly tells nine stories about Chuang Tzu.The book is well-written and vividly expressed,greatly promoting Chinese culture overseas.The report consists of five chapters,among which Chapter 5,case analysis chapter,focuses on the translation of four-character structure of Chinese language,redundant Chinese words and culture-loaded words.There are a lot of four-character-structure words in the text.They are either be translated literally or freely accordingly.As for redundant words,the paper analyses the translation of category words and modifiers and puts forward the translation method of omission.The translation methods of culture-loaded words are literal translation,transliteration and translation with annotation respectively.It is hoped that the report can provide a reference for those who are interested in the translation related to the Taoism and Chuang Tzu,and contribute to the transmission of Chinese culture.
