In daily communication, communicators often use humorous words to express their real meaning and adjust the atmosphere,so as to promote the smooth progress of communication.Although humorous utterances seem superficial, they essentially have complex connotations in the process of cognition and understanding. With the in-depth communication and integration of various countries in the world and the spread of Chinese,Chinese learners show a strong interest in humorous discourse forms on the basis of mastering various aspects of Chinese knowledge, but there are still difficulties in cognition and use. Therefore, this paper sorts out the humorous discourse in the program and establishes the corresponding corpus as the source based on Rock and Roast, which takes “ humor should be meaningful regardless of seniority”as the original intention of the program and features talk show as speech form,to explore the generation process of humorous discourse and its deep pragmatic mechanism.Based on the author’s research and analysis, the relevant research results are as follows: According to Attardo’s three-stage model, humorous utterance is divided into the set-up phase, the incongruity phase and the resolution phase. The specific development mode of each phase is supplemented and explored based on specific corpus and examples.Furthermore, author combines the propulsion mode of incongruity and resolution phase with relevant pragmatic theories, analyzes that people adopt certain words which take advantage of certain pragmatic theories to mislead receiver, forcing receiver takes more cognitive effort to understand humorous utterances.
