Behind domestic violence is an unequal power relationship between the sexes.Officially responsible departments and news media discourse centrally reflect current social consciousness and shape social cognition to a certain extent.Based on systemic-functional linguistics, critical discourse analysis and feminist theory, this paper uses the official responses, bulletins, news reports and comments related to the four influential domestic violence incidents in recent years as the corpus. With the help of Fairclough’s three-dimensional model, from three dimensions of text, discursive practice and social practice, this paper conducts a critical analysis of the vocabulary, transitive system, metaphor, force, intertextuality, coherence, social context and discourse democratization trend of official and media discourse, revealing hidden discursive strategies and gender perceptions. The study found that in the textual dimension, through the use of high-frequency words, the different naming of domestic violence and character appellations, the selection of transitive processes and roles, and the shaping of metaphors related to domestic violence, law, and women, the official and media have completed tendentious expressions. In the dimension of discourse practice, the official and the media enhance the force by means of "making promises","issuing orders","asking questions" and "using authoritative discourses and factual data".The intertextuality between texts is constructed by the blending of styles and styles, and the cohesion and coherence of texts are realized by means of the propaganda and openness of the text structure, and establishment of logical chains of text structures. From the perspective of social practice, the construction of domestic violence discourse is affected by multiple influences of national ideology, advanced gender concepts and traditional gender culture.Changes in the way of network communication and the media cater to the needs of the market, making domestic violence discourse present a trend of democratization. |
