Research On The Identity Of Youth Subculture Groups From The Perspective Of Media Ritual

From the perspective of media ritual in Kurdri,this paper takes e-sports groups as the research object,and uses participatory observation methods,interview methods and text analysis methods to study the identity construction of youth subcultural groups,enrich the research field of communication.Firstly,this paper sorts out the research status of youth subculture,identity and media ritual theory,determines the research scope of media ritual theory,and explains the rationality of the research on the identity of e-sports youth subculture groups from the perspective of media ritual.Secondly,this paper analyzes the identity dilemma faced by the current youth subcultural groups,and discusses the subcultural transformation of some youth groups.Thirdly,this paper analyzes the construction of e-sports subculture from the perspective of media rituals,and interprets how e-sports constructs e-sports subcultures through media rituals,so as to provide a foundation for the identity of youth subcultural groups.Then,the identity construction path of esports youth subcultural group is analyzed from the level of symbols,discourses and collective memory.Finally,the effect of the practice behavior of e-sports youth subculture group on identity is analyzed.It is found that Kurdri’s media ritual is still applicable in the online environment,the communication of e-sports is a special media ritual,the media ritual behavior constructs an identity space for the e-sports subculture,the media ritual category "presence" and "authenticity" are the core of connecting the e-sports group,and the media ritual category gives e-sports subculture meaning.In the media ceremony,visual symbols confirm each other in e-sports groups,auditory symbols condense group emotions,and under the discourse system of media ceremony,e-sports groups confirm their identity,and strengthen their identity through the continuous awakening of collective memory.The esports community’s practices after gaining identity reaffirmed identity.
