| This paper takes Pushkin’s original novel Onegin adapted into three plays of different genres, namely opera, musical and drama,as the research object, discusses the external expression forms and style characteristics of the stage presentation of these three works,as well as the creative logic and expressive intention behind them, and further discusses the story framework based on the same novel.Under the treatment of different stage texts, there are three reasons for different narratives. The first chapter reviews the life of Pushkin, the author of the original novel, and the creation background of Eugene Onegin, and analyzes the content of the novel text from the perspective of drama, which lays a foundation for the author to observe how the novel text transforms into stage text and understand the prototype of stage text.Chapter two to Chapter four analyzes three theatrical versions respectively, which are composed by Tchaikovsky in 1877 and directed by Polish director Trelinski in 2011 in Spain’s Queen Sofia Art Opera House.A 2015 musical version produced by Markers Lab in St.Petersburg; And a 2013 play by Lithuanian director Rimas Tuminas. The three chapters respectively analyze and interpret the stage expression techniques of the three versions based on the stage presentation mode and content, and finally demonstrate the internal theme meaning of each play, pointing to three different story styles and ending development. The fifth chapter discusses how the same story is adapted into three plays of different genres, styles and narrative modes, and systematically extracts and summarizes the viewpoints demonstrated in the previous three chapters, and finally draws the reasons and conclusions of why the three versions present their appearance from the three aspects of the story’s theme connotation, telling way and genre characteristics. The conclusion of this paper is that the three plays are driven by the theme of their respective stories, and combined with appropriate genre characteristics and stage performance techniques to express the accuracy of their ideas, ultimately leading to the specific presentation of the stage text, which in turn causes the three plays to differ in the narrative style, stage language and story ending. |
