Today,the rapid development of electronic media has led us to a new era of image reading,where everyone is a photographer and images are gradually replacing words as memory aids,as well as becoming a medium for stimulating or replacing memory.In contemporary painting,the use of visual materials also constitutes a very important creative tool for artists.Through the visual experience brought by images or pictures,the viewer’s inner emotions and memories are triggered,thus triggering emotional resonance,and the emotions are subjectively reproduced in another way with individual temperature through painting.Memory is personal and internal.On the one hand,memory has authenticity,it is a more or less stable description of past events.Memory is never the resurfacing of an experience in the mind;as long as an experience has a later impact on a person,that impact itself reflects the memory of that experience.Memory,on the other hand,is a new,reconstructed narrative,a selective,interpretive process.Memory is a record of the events we experience,a subjective choice made by the subject of memory based on perceptual experience,rather than a reproduction of the event itself.In other ways,recalling a memory is not retrieving from an already existing,fully formed thought,but creating something new.Art workers are sensitive to the importance of the subjective experience of memory,and for them,the act of remembering involves not only re-selection and recreation but also an independent act of creation,resulting in something new,a new memory with a false tinge.Through the analysis of contemporary artists’ cases,this paper explores the choice of individual memories and creative themes,analyzes the use of image media in personal creation and how to use image media to reconstruct memories in the process of creation,and returns to the identity of the printmaker to explore how to realize the expression of autobiographical memories in the context of printmaking,and completes the consideration of the current personal painting practice in a pulsating manner.This paper is divided into four chapters,which take the author’s intaglio printing creative process as a clue.The paper starts with the background and significance of the topic,research status at home and abroad and research methods(Chapter 1);exploring the reasons for the establishment of the theme of "memory" from the nature and characteristics of memory and the influence of memory on individuals(Chapter 2);the crisis of memory under the impact of the image age,the distortion and reconstruction of memory,and the reflection on how to use image materials to reproduce the spiritual reality in intaglio printing creation(Chapter 3);finally,the further search for the expression of autobiographical memory in the indirect,flat and accidental working method of printmaking(Chapter 4).Combined with the artist’s case,this paper analyzes and explores the creative process from the establishment of theme to the selection of content,and finally completes the presentation of works and emotions,and considers the development and shortcomings in this process,so as to guide the creative development in the future.
