The art song "Erlknig" is adapted by Schubert from the narrative poem of the same name written by the German poet Goethe. It was created in 1815 and is one of his representative works. There are four versions of this song, and this article is dedicated to studying its fourth draft,(D.328)translated by Shang Jiahua."Erlknig" is created using the general score method. The form of the work is free, which is a rare dramatic development throughout the structure. The music is rich and diverse in the arrangement of texture and harmony.Schubert shows a high degree of integration of music creation and literary poetry, which can be regarded as a model of art songs. The work "Erlknig" poses a great challenge to the skills of piano accompaniment. For example, the fast playing of homophone octave makes the performer’s arm muscles sore easily. How to improve endurance is a problem that must be solved when playing this work.In addition to the difficulty of playing endurance, the design of the work’s musical strength is also very wonderful, and the strong contrast between the weak parts adds to the dramatic effect of Erlknig. To master the artistic conception expressed in the original work,we need to study the touch keys, strength and other contents of the piano. In response to the above problems, the author needs to list a single chapter to elaborate in detail.Taking "Erlknig" as an example, this article analyzes the accompaniment techniques of the art song "Erlknig" in three parts. The first part briefly introduces the creation of Schubert’s life and the overview of the art song "Erlknig",which leads to the practical significance of the characters in the work and provides a valuable reference for the in-depth understanding of the work. The second part analyzes the music of the piano accompaniment and the structure of the work "Erlknig".It is explained in detail, and the musical content of the work is explained from the perspective of melody and texture;the third part interprets the piano accompaniment skills, which is also the key content of this article. For example,in the piano accompaniment, the vocal melody is highlighted by the change of timbre, the development of the plot is promoted by the change of strength, the breathing is played with the singer’s breathing, and the musical atmosphere is set off by pedal changes.Through the above research, combined with the author’s many years of performance experience and theoretical knowledge,we will further explore how to perfectly display the work.
