| There is a common “X shi Y” construction in modern Chinese,which has a high frequency of use and a wide range of applications.For the special variation of the rhetorical construction "X shi Y",its construction is not only active in the internet,but also frequently appears in official newspapers such as the People’s Daily.Based on linguistic facts and integrating new corpus,this article analyzes and summarizes the rhetorical construct “X shi Y” from the perspective of construction grammar theory.Rhetoric construction refers to the formal meaning pairing with rhetorical effects.In the rhetorical construction “X shi Y”,the constant “shi” in the component is a descriptive auxiliary word,and the variable “X” and "Y" are mainly nouns and noun phrases,verbs,and verb phrases;Construction can act as a subject,predicate,object,attribute in a sentence,and can be combined with prepositions to form a prepositional object phrase as an adverbial;Its semantic characteristics include comparative meaning and descriptive meaning,that is,the appearance and attributes of comparative objects,the way and situation of describing actions.This meaning is mainly due to the semantic emptiness of the “shi”and the prominence of the connotation of the variable “X”;Functionally,we believe that it has the characteristics of subjectivity,captioning,economy,and visualization.The formation process of the rhetorical construct “X shi Y” can be summarized as relying on grammatical constructs,fully mobilizing encyclopedic knowledge,contextual context,etc.,exerting the role of human cognitive mechanisms,adjusting grammatical constructs,and achieving innovative use;The generation mechanism of the rhetorical construct “X shi Y” is mainly metonymy,metaphor and meme replication.In addition,from the perspective of interactive construction grammar,its generation is the result of the interaction of multiple factors. |
