Respect for others exposes the possibility of developing an ideal moral human society and plays an essential practical role in promoting social harmony.Respect for others is an important aspect of the moral growth and socialization of children aged 7-15,and the nation is putting more emphasis on moral education of respect for others in compulsory education in order to foster home peace,school stability,and social harmony.According to Piaget,peer interaction is essential for children to develop respect for others,and peer relationships have an impact on children’s external behaviors.Respect for others is the cause of peer relationships,and external behavior is the result of peer interaction.To attain the essential educational goal of building moral education,research into the role of respect for others in molding children’s peer relationships and external behaviors is required.This study conducts a grounded theoretical study of the content of respect for others in children aged 7-15 years,develops the Children’s Respect for Others Questionnaire with reliable reliability based on three-level coding,and analyzes the developmental characteristics and interaction mechanisms of children’s respect for others,peer relationships,and external behaviors in conjunction with the use of other questionnaires.The following are the main conclusions of this study:1.Conflicts involving non-moral judgments exists in the accomplishment component of children’s respectful coding,which include pro-social aspects in addition to equity,norms,and achievement.2.Children demonstrate high levels of overall respect for others,peer connections,pro-social conduct,and low levels of aggression,with substantial differences depending on gender,age and whether they are an only child or class leaders.3.Peer acceptability,pro-social behavior,and respect for others are all significantly and positively connected;Children’s aggressive behavior,respect for others,and peer rejection are all strongly and adversely associated.4.Respect for others,which is partially mediated by the 25.37% impact size,can indirectly affect children’s pro-social conduct through their acceptability by peers;As a partial mediator of the 58% impact size,children’s peer rejection can indirectly affect children’s violent conduct through respect for others.Based on the data analysis and debate,this study suggests three educational recommendations for future reference.1.School education should recognize developmental disparities in children’s respect for others and create a focal point for moral instruction segments.2.Mental health education should focus on improving children’s peer interactions and guiding the positive development of children’s exterior behaviors.3.Enhance school culture system development,respect for others throughout children’s development,and prevent aggressive conduct in schoolchildren. |
