| In the past 20 years since 2000,A Lai has written a total of four long novels,which are respectively the Ji Cun Epic,King Gesar,Zhan Tay:Finally Melted Iron Knot--A twohundred-year-old Kangba Legend and A Story in the Clouds.Originally titled Empty Mountain,the Epic tells the history of the village from the 1950s to the 1990s;King Gesar,with its strong Tibetan cultural characteristics and magical colors,has become a highlight in the retelling myth works of our country and even the present world."Zan-tay:An Iron Lump That Finally Melted--A Two-hundred-Year Kangba Saga" is a nonfiction work that presents readers with a two-hundred-year Tibetan saga."In the Clouds" is a disaster literature with the May 12 earthquake as the background,opening up an alternative trauma writing.In these four novels,A Lai always maintains the awe of literature and life,focusing on the relationship between The Times and human beings.As a representative writer of ethnic groups,A Lai plays a pivotal role in the Chinese literary world.The academic circle has been relatively mature in studying his works.For example,scholars have conducted extensive and in-depth studies from the perspectives of culture,history,ecology and ethnicity.This paper mainly takes Alai’s four long novels since the 21st century as the object,combines the common nature of Alai’s human-oriented writing and the development of the literary creation principle and literary practice of disenchantment for Tibetan areas,and analyzes Alai’s writing on the themes of tradition and modernity,cultural identity,Tibetan writing,ethnic relations and national identity and soul.The Ji Cun Epic is structured in a decentralized and holistic way.Each story has a different theme and different main characters,which reflects the intersection of different voices in the novel,making the novel richer in tone and more diverse in meaning.This paper analyzes the inner meaning of the novel from three aspects:structure construction,character writing and theme exploration.King Gesar is a literary restatement of the Legend of King Gesar by the idea of "restatement myth".This paper focuses on the restatement history and modern expression of the novel,trying to reveal the positive significance of the novel’s "restatement" of Tibetan culture.In Zhan Duai,A Lai responds to how Tibetan areas should be integrated into the modern era with a modern perspective and problem consciousness.This paper explores how the author writes about ethnic relations and national identity from the perspective of the novel’s non-fiction narrative strategy.In "In the Clouds",the author describes Abba’s doubts about the existence of ghosts and his incomprehension about the rituals of priests,presenting Abba’s pursuit of his own beliefs.Starting from the theme and characters of the novel,this paper explores how the author demonstrates the conflict and integration between tradition and modernity with a reflective and inclusive attitude. |
