Mainly through the method of parallel comparison, this dissemination takes the textual criticism of Alice Walker and Gayatri Spivak as the main research object. While analyzing the convergences and differences in textual criticism between the two critics,it explores the universals of postcolonial feminist textual criticism between them and between the First World and the Third World critics. It also summarizes the general patterns of contemporary postcolonial feminist criticism based on the universals. The first chapter generally starts with the thematic study and discusses the two critics’ strategic commonalities in thematic interpretation. On the one hand, for the texts with implicit discriminatory ideas, two critics expose the unequal binary opposition between white people and people of color, between men and women in the texts through deconstruction and deny the thematic expression of the author of the texts. On the other hand, for the texts expressing a sense of equality, they continue to interpret creatively based on respecting the original themes of the texts, endowing the texts with new theme connotations and thus demonstrating their egalitarian proposals. In the second chapter, combining their criticism of many texts, this dissemination reveals the hierarchical concept in the texts proposed by them from the perspective of character criticism.Following the deconstructive analysis of the previous chapter, the characters in the text can be divided into multiple hierarchical groups due to the dual discrimination of race and gender in many characters’ senses;moreover,in the process of division, racial discrimination is the main criterion for division, followed by gender discrimination, and the discriminatory relationships between groups are established. Moreover,Walker and Spivak also discuss the mulattos and the Third World elites, respectively, and find a suitable position for them in the discriminatory relationships.According to the difference in the degree of discrimination, the hierarchical “pyramid” representing the concepts of characters is built. On this basis, they also demonstrate specific performances of the oppressed discrimination groups and the feasible plans to achieve equality through the characters in the texts. The third chapter analyzes the similarities and differences between the narration of their textual criticism.Although they differ significantly in linguistic style due to their different creative experiences and identities, they still show more similarities in narrative strategies: because of the influence of life experiences and Marxist thought, they often put themselves into and inspect the textual narration from the perspective of civilians while criticizing;in the process of criticism, they are not rigidly limited to the differences in time and space, region and gender, but integrate many texts into the same article, which made their textual criticism show a “patchwork” style. The fourth chapter summarizes similarities in their text criticism;behind these similarities is the commonness between their poetic ideas — “Womanism” and “Planetarity.”To prove this similarity, this paper takes the criticism of particular texts as examples. It also extends to discussing other postcolonial feminist textual criticism, which introduces Barbara Smith and Chandra Mohanty. It is proved that this poetic thought and practice are common in postcolonial feminist criticism.
