Interaction between teachers and textbooks is an essential part of junior high school English teaching.In the 2022 edition of Curriculum Standards for Junior High School English “Curriculum Implementation and Teaching Suggestions”,it is necessary to strengthen the integrity of teaching and promote the implementation of Large-Unit teaching,it encourages active interaction between teachers and textbooks,and strengthen teachers’ research ability on the diverse interaction of textbooks.Interaction determinism theory provides an innovative perspective for improving the interactive teaching effect between teachers and textbooks.Interaction determinism theory focuses on teachers’ ability to study textbooks’ in-depth interpretation,teaching research and overall design,which can effectively improve the interactive output of classroom teachers and textbooks in a more systematic and flexible form,and help to promote students’ comprehensive ability to use English.In response to the current lack of research on the interaction effect between junior high school English teachers and textbooks,insufficient systematic improvement,insufficient understanding of the interaction relationship between junior high school teachers and textbooks and the improvement of teaching effectiveness,and non-standard teaching design,this study selects Large-Unit teaching designs to conduct experimental research on junior high school English teaching,providing teaching reform exploration and reference basis for the interaction between junior high school English teachers and textbooks,and answering the following questions: 1)What are the teaching design patterns for textbooks interaction between junior high school English teachers in the preparation stage and teaching stage? 2)How effective is the application of Large-Unit teaching in the interactive experimental research of middle school English textbooks? 3)What are the suggestions for improving teachers’ teaching design ability and reflecting on the interactive mode of English textbooks?Research Method: In order to verify the effectiveness of teaching methods based on the interaction effect between teachers and textbooks under Large-Unit teaching,this study selected two parallel classes of Grade 7 students from M Middle School in L City as the experimental subjects.A 10-month teaching experiment on the interaction effect between junior high school English teachers and textbooks was conducted in the experimental class,providing reference basis for middle school English teachers to improve the interaction teaching effect with textbooks and students’ learning effect.With the assistance of the New Curriculum Standards Regional Collaborative Survey conducted by the Primary and Secondary School Teaching and Research Office of the Education Bureau of L City,this study conducted a questionnaire survey on teacher textbook interactive teaching design among 982 English teachers in 10 junior high schools in L City,and a questionnaire survey on1002 students’ participation in teacher textbook classroom design to enhance their interactive expression ability.At the same time,research methods such as testing,observation,questionnaire survey,and in-depth interviews are used to explore the interactive application mode of middle school English textbooks.Research has found that: 1)The interactive teaching design between teachers and textbooks by middle school English teachers based on the perspective of Large-Unit teaching has a significant effect in the preparation and teaching stages.2)The Large-Unit teaching model that interacts with textbooks has a significant effect compared to traditional teaching models,which can significantly promote middle school English teachers to deeply explore their teaching and research abilities and teaching design abilities in English textbooks.3)The post-test English scores of the experimental class showed significant improvement compared to the control class,promoting students’ comprehensive English expression ability and cultivating students’ core English literacy.Research recommendations: 1)Middle school English teachers should pay attention to the deep exploration and resource development of textbook text and image complementarity,explore a more systematic and complete interactive teaching design between teachers and textbooks,and improve the training effect of students’ and textbook expression ability.2)Junior high school English teachers should pay attention to the construction of the knowledge system in the design process of major unit teaching experiments,and strengthen the integration and construction mode of teaching knowledge points in the implementation process of teaching design.3)Junior high school English teachers should pay attention to the evaluation methods of students in the process of cultivating and interacting with textbooks,encourage and affirm students from multiple perspectives and the entire process,and improve students’ core English subject literacy.
