A Study On Folk Song Elements And Performance In “Jasmine” Fantasia

"Jasmine" Fantasia is a solo work adapted by Chu Wanghua in 2003,based on the theme of folk song Jasmine.The work has strong national feelings,with folk elements throughout the whole song.Through the analysis of "Jasmine" Fantasia,this paper focuses on exploring the application of ethnic elements in piano adaptation works,thinking about how to fully embody the musical charm of Chinese ethnic characteristics in piano performance,and how to aptly interpret the ethnic elements in the works,so as to realize the pianization of ethnic music and make Chinese traditional music culture to the world.This paper consists of introduction and three chapters.In the introduction,firstly,the theoretical and practical significance of the reason for the topic is explained,the research status at home and abroad is investigated,and the research methods and ideas of this paper are introduced.The first chapter starts with the review of the history and current situation of Chinese piano adaptation works,and then introduces the creation background of "Jasmine" Fantasia.The second chapter analyzes the folk elements of the works,mainly from the grace note,rhythm,music structure of three aspects.The third chapter is the performance analysis of the works,mainly from the grace note,rhythm,strength,breath,pedal five aspects of detailed explanation.As a Western musical instrument,the piano is different from the ethnic instruments in China.This article explores the performance of the "Jasmine" Fantasia and explains how to use different performance techniques to imitate Chinese ethnic instruments in piano performance;This article analyzes the elements of folk songs in the work and finds that decorative tones imitate the singing of "Runqiang" in folk songs,and the punctuation rhythm reflects the characteristic of "Shuai qiang" with multiple tones.The purpose of this article is to analyze the "Jasmine Fantasia and focus on exploring the application of ethnic elements in piano adaptation works.It aims to consider how to fully reflect the musical charm of China’s ethnic characteristics in piano performance,thereby stimulating performers’ enthusiasm for learning Chinese works and promoting the integration and development of piano performance and folk songs.To promote China’s traditional ethnic music culture to the world.
