| Mirroring is not only closely related to women,but is also common in Western female themed paintings.Before writing this article,a large amount of image data on female and mirror themed paintings was collected,striving to clarify the development and changes of mirror in female themed oil paintings.Based on specific works,the aesthetic function and moral changes of mirror in female themed paintings were analyzed from the surface to the inside.Finally,the focus was shifted from the surface "mirror" to the inner "image",striving to interpret the oppression and consciousness awakening of women in the mirror.Since the 16 th century,Southern painters in Western Europe have been passionate about depicting goddesses in Greek mythology.Southern painters have added flat mirrors to female themed oil paintings to complete the image of the goddess,or to extend the secular meanings of peeping and lust.With the development of society and the popularization of mirrors from top to bottom,the religious meaning of mirrors gradually disintegrates and moves towards secular meanings.People step out of the moral education in mirrors and explore themselves in mirrors.In the first half of this article,the focus is mainly on the characterization research of such painting works.Firstly,the important achievements of mirror image in the development of Western female subject painting are summarized,and the function of mirror image in Western female subject painting is summarized.Through research,it is found that mirror image has its own unique value and function in form beauty,depth and artistic conception of the work.This article places the perspective on women’s self-awareness from the latter half,and adds many self portraits of female painters to the sample content.Based on Lacan’s mirror theory and feminist perspective,it attempts to interpret the "Venus" behind the mirror-the suppressed self-awareness of women in human development history.Finally,this article also selected such works of contemporary female artists and compared them with past works for comparative analysis.From a representational perspective,it analyzed the new appearance of mirrors in contemporary female themed oil paintings.Compared to the past,contemporary female and mirror themed paintings more clearly exhibit the characteristics of "confrontation" and the elimination of "gaze".Therefore,the author believes that reflecting the awakening of women’s self-awareness in the mirror is still an ongoing topic today.The "truth" hidden behind the mirror is being more directly exposed by artists through the mirror,and the female perspective that has been overlooked by people is increasingly valued by the art world.Women are no longer carriers of "desire" and "beauty" in painting works,and a psychological mirror closer to "truth" is being revealed,And reflected in the mirror image. |
