Musical Characteristics And Performance Interpretation Of Zheng Song "The Traveler"

The guzheng concerto "Traveler" was created by the composer Mr.Wei Jun in2015.It is very popular among performers because of its distinctive Western style.Its characteristics are as follows: 1.In terms of creative materials: the characteristic elements of Xi ’an drum music are adopted,emphasizing the weak rhythm and the melody motive of four jumps;2.Rhythm: continuous use of syncopation and sixteenth notes,highlighting the characteristics of Western style;3.In terms of rhythm:frequent change of rhythm,single time,double time and mixed time are used to highlight emotional changes.4.Playing techniques: scraping,double shaking and other techniques are adopted to show the mysterious color of the country of Qiuci.Based on this,this paper will combine the author’s performance practice to explore the works.The research of this work is divided into the following three parts: the first part,the composer,the background of the composition and the structure of the music are studied and analyzed;The second part analyzes the elements of Xi ’an drum music,melody motivation,rhythm and rhythm characteristics used in the works.The third part,combined with the author’s own playing experience,further analyzes the application of playing techniques and emotional processing of the worksThe purpose of this paper is to explore the musical features,the application of playing techniques and the expression of emotions presented in the work Traveler.At the same time,from the perspective of practice,the author explores solutions to the problems faced in the performance,so as to promote the performer to have a deeper understanding and thinking of the Zheng song "Traveler".
