A Translation Report On Trading Into A Bright Energy Future Based On Skopos Theory

Energy plays an imperative role in our way of life.With the continuous development of society and economy,people pay more and more attention to energy,especially clean energy.Nowadays,the scientific and technological texts of energy are increasing,and the requirements for translation are also improving and updating.This thesis is an English-Chinese translation practice report with Skopos Theory as the guiding theory.The source text,Trading into a Bright Energy Future,is the latest published by the International Renewable Energy Agency and the World Trade Organization.The book draws on the development and implementation of high quality infrastructure for renewable energy technology trade,and supports economic recovery by offering assistance to expand the field of solar energy,including increasing employment after the COVID-19 emergency.Based on the three principles of Skopos Theory,this report mainly makes translation strategies and case studies from two levels of lexicon and syntax.In terms of lexicon,it mainly analyzes the application of translation skills of amplification and conversion,and summarizes professional terms.In the syntactical level,it mainly analyzes the translation of long difficult sentences and passive voice sentences.Through a series of translation skills,this report illustrates the guiding significance of Skopos Theory in the translation of scientific and technological texts.
