The new curriculum standard for senior high school English focuses on cultivating students’ core competencies of English discipline and doing things in English.The unit integrity instruction from the perspective of deep learning emphasizes helping students to construct the internal system framework of knowledge and promote the practical application of knowledge from the macro perspective of the unit.Based on constructivist learning theory and unit integrity instruction,this study mainly answers the following two questions:(1)What effect does the unit integrity instruction under deep learning have on senior high school students’ attitude towards English learning?(2)What effect does the unit integrity instruction under deep learning have on senior high school students’ English scores?This study takes Class 3(experimental class)and Class 4(contrast class)of a senior high school of Xiangfu District,Henan Province as subjects.It uses questionnaire,interview and test and SPSS26.0 as research tools.The study collected students’ pre-test information of English scores and put forward the concept,steps and examples of implementing unit integrity instruction from the perspective of deep learning.Then the unit integrity instruction was carried out in the experimental class,while the traditional teaching method was adopted in the contrast class.After a 16 week teaching experiment,the author collected data and drew the following conclusions:On the one hand,from the perspective of deep learning,the unit integrity instruction of high school English can improve students’ attitudes towards English learning.According to the results of the questionnaire for English learning attitude,the average score of experimental class students has increased from 3.473 to 3.745.Meanwhile,students in the experimental class are more willing to participate in classroom activities and actively answer questions.On the other hand,from the perspective of deep learning,the unit integrity instruction of high school English can improve students’ English learning scores.Through analyzing the test of two classes,the average score of contrast class has increased by 1.07 points,while the average score of experimental class has increased by 2.36 points.Compared with the contrast class,the English score of the experimental class has improved more.
