| A toponym is a proper noun,a name that people have agreed upon for a region,carrying important information about history,geography,culture and so on.Among them,dialectal toponym have strong local characteristics and contain rich regional cultural connotations.This paper takes the dialectal toponym of Weiyuan County as the object of study and examines the phonetic,lexical and toponym meanings of Weiyuan County toponym.It aims to reveal the characteristics of Weiyuan County dialectal toponym,combine the pronunciation and use of words in Weiyuan County dialectal toponym,make some suggestions for the standardization of toponym and provide a reference basis for future research on Weiyuan County toponym.This paper collects 2,358 geographical nouns in Weiyuan County,Neijiang City,Sichuan Province,through reading books,map searches and field surveys,and conducts a comprehensive study of Weiyuan County dialect toponym using descriptive methods and data statistics.The description and analysis of the toponym in the Weiyuan County dialect are the focus of this paper,and the examination of the meanings of the toponym is the difficulty of writing this paper.The study of toponym words in Weiyuan County helps to unearth the history and culture of Weiyuan County,helps to understand the geographical and physical features of Weiyuan County and the local social and ideological and cultural system,and also raises people’s awareness of the protection of toponym.Aspects of the phonetic features of the toponym words of Weiyuan County.The 24 vowels,36 rhymes and 4 single character tones of the Weiyuan County dialect are introduced.The correspondence between the Weiyuan dialect and Mandarin Chinese is introduced to pave the way for explaining the differences between the oral and reading sounds of the Weiyuan County dialect toponym,and to provide a basis for explaining the phonetic changes in toponym such as alliteration.In addition,a summary analysis of the syllabic composition and phonetic transcription collocation of toponym in the Weiyuan County dialect is presented.In terms of the common names and proper names of Weiyuan County,the external and internal morphology of Weiyuan County dialect toponym are explored,and the common names,proper names and structural forms of toponym are summary and analysis.The number of common names for natural geographical entities accounts for48.19% of the total number of common names,with "bay" and "hill" being the most common names;the number of common names for human geographical entities accounts for 50.62% of the total number of common names,with "Home" and "Village" being the most common names.From the point of view of lexical construction,we have analysis the proper names in the Weiyuan dialect,and there are mainly two types of proper names: simple proper names and synthetic proper names.In terms of structural forms,the main types of place names are "proper name + common name + common name",derived place names and "proper name + common name".The rationale for naming places in Weiyuan County.This chapter analyzes the geographical names of Weiyuan County from two aspects: those named for natural elements and those named for human elements.Geographical names named after natural elements are mostly based on natural landscapes,geographical locations and natural resources.The names named after humanistic elements are mostly based on family names,folk customs,good wishes and humanistic landscapes,etc.In the study of place names,cultural information such as military and religious information was also found.Among them,621 are named after topography and landform,and 450 are related to hydrology,reflecting the diversity of the geography and landform in Weiyuan County.There are 635 place names named after surnames,accounting for 26.93% of all place names,and these three categories account for the largest proportion,with a weighting of72.35%.The use of words in the dialectal toponym of Weiyuan County.This chapter focuses on the analysis of the use of words and pronunciation in the dialectal toponym of Weiyuan County.Firstly,the use of words in the dialect of Weiyuan County is explained from the perspective of the dialectal use of words in place names and the use of variant words.Secondly,the pronunciation of the words used in place names is collated and compared.Finally,suggestions are made for the standardization of place names from the perspective of the actual situation of Weiyuan dialect toponym. |
