| As a topic in the field of gender, feminism has been studied deeply by many scholars in recent years. In the course of Chinese history, there are countless feminists, they have played an indispensable role in freeing women from feudal chains. In the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, there was a feminist who developed the cause of female education in full swing--Lv Bicheng. There are many mysteries in Lv Bicheng that have been discussed by later generations. For example, why did she take the path of feminism as a traditional lady? Why did she never marry? This study takes Lv Bicheng as the research object, takes her poems, articles, correspondence with people and historical data of her life as the research materials, and uses a variety of psychological theories to deeply analyze Lv Bicheng’s life experience,so as to interpret the two suspense problems in her life. The researchers adopted the psychobiographical method to collect and screen the primary and secondary data of Lv,coded the materials with QSR Nvivo 12.0 software, and analyzed the data with three criteria: salience index, key factors of growth and prototype scenario.Based on the analysis results, this study finds that in terms of the motivations that influenced Lv Bicheng to take the feminist path:(1)Lv Bicheng formed the Electra complex for her father and pursued the convergence with her father in behavior;(2)Backwardness in the family,Lv Bicheng saw the hegemony of the paternal line and the weakness of the maternal line, and the resulting inferiority complex prompted her to constantly seek for self-identity;(3)The establishment of self-identity helps Lv to develop a strong motivation for achievement, and after achievement is completed, female subjectivity also develops.Feminism influenced Lu Bicheng’s view of marriage to a certain extent, but there were other reasons for her choice not to marry. In terms of the motivation of Lv’s not getting married:(1)Wang’s divorce left a profound trauma and shadow on Lv,which was the psychological root of her resistance to marriage. Her pessimistic view of marriage made her suppress her desire for love and marriage;(2)The hierarchy of needs met quickly made Lv fall into a mood of enjoyment and did not care about marriage;(3)In his later years,he devoted all his energy to Buddhism and human rights movement, which satisfied Lv’s stagnation.Through the analysis of the suspense issues,it can be seen that the gender concept education from parents in the family is extremely important. The establishment of a family with open gender concept and equal gender status has a crucial impact on the children’s personal growth and physical and mental health. Moreover, the psychological stability of individuals in childhood plays an immeasurable role in their future development. For today’s women, they should properly deal with their own inferiority complex, identity and the establishment of subjectivity, face the early trauma and inferiority with a good attitude, develop positive psychological motivation, and objectively view marriage and childbirth. |
