In recent years,China’s cultural industry has flourished with the support of national policies,and cultural enterprises are playing an increasingly important role in the development of China’s economy.According to the development situation of China’s cultural media industry,national government departments have formulated many favorable policies to support the public opinion orientation of traditional media and the integration of emerging media,promote industry transformation,and improve the overall operation and management level of China’s cultural media industry.This makes it appropriate for Chinese cultural and media enterprises to achieve the effect of “ 1+1>2 ” by acquiring high-quality resources in the entire contract industry,improving the upstream and downstream industrial chains,and enhancing their own scale to become one of the promising ways to enhance market competitiveness.However,the current academic research on the events,motivations,and performance of cultural media enterprise mergers and acquisitions is not much,and its reference and guidance for reality is insufficient.Taking the case of Cat’s Eye Entertainment M & A of happy media as the research object,this paper makes a case study on the motivation and performance of M & A of Cultural Media Enterprises,on the one hand,it complements the deficiency of our country’s M & a research on Cultural Media Enterprises,on the other hand,it also provides practical reference for the merger and acquisition of Cultural Media Enterprises.This paper analyzes the connotation of the case from the following 6 chapters: the first chapter is the introduction,which explains the historical background,research significance and research status;The second chapter is related concept definition and theory foundation,the third chapter is our country culture media enterprise merger present situation and the characteristic elaboration,introduces our country culture media enterprise development present situation and the merger present situation,the characteristic;The fourth chapter is the introduction and motivation analysis of the case of Cat’s Eye Entertainment M & A,which briefly introduces the enterprise situation of both sides,and the background and process of M & A The fifth chapter analyzes the performance of M & A from the financial and non-financial indicators,and the sixth chapter provides conclusions and suggestions for the future M & A activities.The research results show that the motivation of Maoyan Entertainment’s merger and acquisition of Joy Media is to obtain the synergy of cultural media enterprises,namely,financial synergy,business synergy,and management synergy;Expand the business scope and depth of cultural media enterprises;Expand the scale of assets and income of cultural media companies.Expand the industrial chain of cultural media enterprises;Improve the brand image and influence of cultural media enterprises.The acquisition of Huanxi Media Group Limited by Maoyan Entertainment has brought great growth to the company,whether it is the increase of wealth or not.After a series of mergers and acquisitions,the business scope of Maoyan Entertainment has expanded significantly,and combined with the current hot fields,it can achieve substantial growth.The success of Maoyan Entertainment’s merger and acquisition of Huanxi Media Group Limited has brought some enlightenment to other companies in the cultural media industry,that is,select the appropriate target enterprises based on the merger motivation;Integrate resources in all directions to promote enterprise performance;Seize the development opportunities of the new era.
