Junior high school students face the pressure to go to school,in order to better the final battle of the exam,must be in the early learning to lay a good foundation.As a new type of behavior addiction,mobile phone addiction is closely related to junior high school students’ learning engagement.The convenient cluster sampling method was adopted in this study.The students in a middle school in Jinan were taken as the research objects.568 questionnaires were distributed,524 of which were valid,using the smartphone addiction scale,the Learning Engagement Scale for middle school students,the adolescent Self-control dual-system Scale and the core self-evaluation as measuring tools.To explore and analyze the mechanism of self-control and core self-evaluation between mobile phone addiction and learning engagement in junior middle school students,so as to provide a theoretical basis for relevant intervention work.Among the findings:(1)Smartphone addiction of junior high school students is in the medium degree.There are significant differences in mobile phone addiction among different grades.Compared with the first grade students,the mobile phone addiction of the third grade students is more serious.There is no significant difference in mobile phone addiction in terms of gender and whether the child is the only child.(2)Junior high school students are at a medium to high level of learning engagement.There is a significant difference in the level of learning involvement between different grades.The level of learning involvement of students in Grade One and grade two is significantly higher than that of students in grade three.There is no significant difference in learning engagement in terms of gender and one-child status.(3)Mobile phone addiction of junior high school students negatively predicts learning engagement,that is,the more serious the mobile phone addiction of junior high school students,the lower the level of learning engagement.(4)Self-control plays an intermediary role in the relationship between smartphone addiction and learning engagement of junior middle school students,that is,individuals with higher levels of mobile phone addiction have lower self-control ability and lower learning engagement.(5)Core self-evaluation plays an intermediary role in the relationship between smartphone addiction and learning engagement of junior middle school students,that is,individuals with higher level of mobile phone addiction have lower core self-evaluation and lower learning engagement.(6)Smartphone addiction will affect junior high school students’ learning engagement through self-control and core self-evaluation,that is,the higher the level of mobile phone addiction,the lower the level of self-control,the lower the level of core self-evaluation,the lower the level of junior high school students’ learning engagement.According to the relevant results of this study,it is suggested that junior middle school students can improve their learning engagement by improving their self-control level and core self-evaluation,so as to help them achieve better academic performance with better learning status.
