A Study On The Narrative Of Zijin Chen Suspense Web Drama Trilogy

In recent years,web dramas have shown new developments in terms of production and broadcasting methods.The series adapted from IP works with their own fan attributes and good scalability and feasibility have become an important part of web drama works.The series has also become a benchmark for cross-media adaptations.This paper takes the trilogy of Zijin Chen suspense web series as a research sample,and uses the relevant theories of narrative and film science as the support of the paper.It analyzes the narrative characteristics of the series from four levels: narrative structure,sound and picture expression and cross-media narrative innovation,and explores why these three series have achieved such excellent results among many web series.On the structural level,this paper is divided into four parts.The first part is the first chapter of this paper,which composes the complete narrative content of Zijin Chen’s suspense web series trilogy,including the story mode and the general narrative framework.The second part is the second chapter of this paper,which analyzes the narrative structures adopted in the film and television conversion of the three works,such as cause-and-effect linear structure,compound linear structure and multiple crossover structure,which have changed the pure linear structure adopted in traditional suspense web series and made structural innovations.The third part is the third and fourth chapters of this paper,which analyze the characteristics that the three works present together in terms of sound and picture system expression and character setting.The fourth part is the fifth chapter of the paper,which examines the three works as the main body of cross-media narratives and explores how the trilogy makes adjustments and changes while preserving the original story core,thus making narrative innovations.The adaptations of the three works break away from the stereotype of "IP adaptations are bound to flop",and use the language of web drama to convey the core,and further deepen the connotation of the original text.The innovations made on several levels of the narrative are the winning formula for the success of the series,and also provide new creative ideas for future adaptations of similar IP works.
