The poet Artai is an outstanding representative of contemporary Mongolian poetry.Since the publication of his work "quduy maltaγ?id-un dayulal " in 1966,during his creative career spanning over fifty years,he has brought new vitality to the Mongolian poetry scene with his wise and profound poems,as well as his innovative artistic and aesthetic pursuits. This article conducts an in-depth study of Artai’s poetry, focusing on five aspects:his concern for reality, his perspective on the people, his global vision, the incorporation of folk traditions, and his relationship with world poetry. The first chapter discusses the theme of social concern in Artai’s poetry.Artai is a poet of profound intellectual depth, exquisite artistic sensibility, and a strong sense of social reality. His social concern is demonstrated in three aspects:the rationality of his poetic subject, his multifaceted concerns for reality, and his artistic choice to confront reality directly. The poetic subject in Artai’s poetry is characterized by a rational spirit,a direct confrontation with reality, and a belief in "truth."This poetic subject shows a profound concern for society, history, culture, and humanity. These aspects correspond precisely to the artistic concept of" Poetry of Inclusion","Impure Poetry"writing style, and the grandiose lyrical style, achieving a high degree of integration between intellectual thought and artistic expression. The second chapter discusses the people-centered perspective in Artai’s poetry.Artai’s poetry is based on the fundamental ideological orientation of"people-oriented socialism" and features a popularized style of creation. In his poetic aesthetics, there exists a consciousness of class, democracy, and humanity.Consequently, the writing subject imagines(cognizes)the people as "the masters of the country","pathological beings","the common people in suffering",and other similar images. On the levels of content, art, and aesthetics, the fusion of folk life and the ideals of intellectuals is achieved through a speech-like writing style,a free-form structure, and a clear, simple, majestic, and vigorous aesthetic form. This integration of popular and refined elements unifies the two seemingly disparate spheres in a harmonious whole. The third chapter discusses the global perspective present in Artai’s poetry. The global perspective found in Artai’s poetry endows it with the potential to be compared to outstanding poetry from around the world. His poetry achieves universality, globality, and eternity through its engagement with the world of poetry, its philosophical and universal themes, and its pursuit of the "great poem".The world of his poetry is an all-encompassing realm that encompasses the nation, the people, the land, and the earth, containing multifaceted philosophical reflections on society, history, culture, and existence. His "great poem" embodies an aesthetic pursuit that is epic, philosophical, and "non-personal",forming a macroscopic grasp and omniscient lyrical perspective. The poetic techniques employed involve a combination of lyricism, narrative, and dramatization. The fourth chapter discusses the examination of the traditional folk elements present in Artai’s poetry.Artai’s poetry inherits, develops, and innovates upon traditional folk elements, reflecting the creative transformation and innovative development of folk elements in modern Mongolian poetry. This is specifically manifested in the exploration of traditional themes, the creative development of traditional cultural psychology, and the innovation and enhancement of traditional aesthetics. The poet transforms and elevates traditional themes such as history, culture, the grasslands(nature),and the life of herdsmen to contemporary themes in response to the demands of the times.Through the promotion of traditional literary forms, the shaping of traditional cultural character and spirit, and the integration of traditional modes of thought, the poet has made new discoveries in the psychology of folk tradition and culture. In terms of aesthetics,Artai’s poetry embodies a "realistic theme" that reflects the times,a temporal standpoint that "reflects on history, critiques reality, and looks to the future," a spatial imagination of the "Mongolian Plateau, land, and soul," a group of images that are "uplifting, majestic, and sincere," and an emotional attitude that is "anxious, troubled, and faithful." These elements constitute a "land aesthetics" that innovates traditional folk aesthetics. The fifth chapter discusses the relationship between Artai’s poetry and world poetry. This chapter examines the relationship between Artai poetry and the works of Whitman,Neruda, and Ai Qing, respectively,in order to explore the connection between Artai’s poetry creation and world poetry.Through this examination, the chapter clarifies the creative path of Artai learning, reference, and innovation.Whitman,Neruda, and Ai Qing share significant similarities in terms of their spiritual temperament, ideological consciousness, poetic concepts, and aesthetic pursuits. They are poets beloved by the Artai, and many of their poems have been translated by Artai. The works of Neruda,Ai Qing, and Artai are all to varying degrees influenced by the radiating impact of Whitman, and they also have intricate connections with each other. At the same time, based on their personal creative practices and local poetic resources, they have created classic texts and established their own poetic styles within their respective linguistic worlds.
