Research On “NP+V+Le(了)” From The Perspective Of Interactive Construction Grammar

Based on the theory of Interactive Constructive Grammar,following the language research concept of“Usage-Based Construcionist Approach”,this paper systematically analyzes the commonly used format“NP+V+le（了）”in modern Chinese with comparative and mixed-method research method.On the basis of previous studies,we summarize the meaning of“NP+V+le（了）”and classify its construction types based on the meaning.Firstly,this paper determines the argument role of“NP”,the classification criteria of“V”and“le（了）”.Then we summarize the meaning of“NP+V+le（了）”.Based on the five meanings summarized,the format“NP+V+le（了）”is divided into three different constructions:realization construction“NP+V+le（了）”,notification construction“NP_{first person}+V+le（了）”and patient-disappearance construction“NP_patient+V+le（了）”.Secondly,based on the whole,we summarize the construction meanings of the three types of“NP+V+le（了）”.The construction meaning of the realization construction“NP+V+le（了）”is“to describe the implementation of the action/state represented by V during the event development process,specifically manifested as the beginning and continuation of the action/state,the completion and end of the action/state,the completion and entry of the action into the legacy state”;The construction meaning of the“NP_{first person}+V+le（了）”is“the speaker tells the listener that he is about to perform the action indicated by V to achieve the communicative intention of notification”.The construction meaning of the“NP_patient+V+le（了）”is“the patient NP disappears under the action represented by V”.Then we attach importance to restoration,observe the characteristics of components from the specific application of construction,and explore the meaning generation through structural interaction and interface interaction.Thirdly,we analyze the ambiguity represented by“ta xiao le（他笑了）”,“che lai le（车来了）”,and“fan chi le（饭吃了）”Unlike the previous approach of attributing ambiguity solely to“le（了）”,this article argues that the ambiguity of“ta xiao le（他笑了）”is influenced by the interaction between“V”and“le（了）”,and that the ambiguity of“che lai le（车来了）”is caused by the dual verb“lai（来）”and contextual differences.It also explains the identity of realization construction“NP+V+le（了）”and patient-disappearance construction“NP_patient+V+le（了）”,confirming that they are two types of construction with different forms,which can be distinguished through questioning and negative forms.
