Xi Jinping’s important discourse on national unity is a rich and logically rigorous scientific system, the main content of which consists of eight aspects:The national condition theory of "unified multi-ethnic country";the value theory of "cornerstone","lifeline" and "supreme interest";the main line theory of "casting a firm sense of Chinese national community";the identity theory of "cultural identity as fundamental and long-term";the action theory of "winning hearts and minds is the most crucial and effective";the guarantee theory of "guaranteeing national unity by law" and the core theory of "common prosperity and development of all ethnic groups".The original contribution of this important thesis, which is developed in the course of inheritance and innovated in the course of development,is mainly reflected in the following: it clearly puts forward the new status of national unity in the new era, profoundly reveals the new connotation of national unity in the new era,and scientifically constructs a new strategy for national unity in the new era. This important discourse has pushed the theory of socialist national unity with Chinese characteristics to a new stage and formed a theoretical system of socialist national unity with Chinese characteristics in the new era, which has great value and significance of the times.Theoretically,it enriches the CPC’s theory of national unity, advances the development and innovation of the Marxist theory of national unity, and provides theoretical guidance for the cause of national unity and progress in China. In practice,it points out the direction and path for the governance of contemporary ethnic relations in China, provides reference for the solution of ethnic problems in other multi-ethnic countries in the world, and provides methodological guidance for the construction of a discourse system with characteristics of developing countries.
