Research On The Development Of Sino-Saudi Relation In The Perspective Of National Interest

In recent years,with crisis continuously rising in the Arab region,such as Yemen crisis,Qatar severance crisis and the terrorism crisis one after another,the region,which had gradually restored peace,has been brought back on the stage of international conflict.Therefore,people around the world started to pay close attention to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.On the other hand,as China’ The Belt and Road Initiative and the Greater Neighborhood Diplomacy Strategy were unveiled,the development of the Middle East is interwoven with the development of China.Especially as the kingdom of Saudi Arabia,a major power in the Middle East,has adjusted its foreign policies and been proactively cultivating its ties with China,new progress on the Sino-Saudi relation have been achieved in a continuous manner.The People’s Republic of China and the kingdom of Saudi Arabia established the diplomatic relation 32 years ago which is quite late.The two countries officially established diplomatic relations on July 21,1990.Before that,the diplomatic relation between two sides was severed due to differences in political system and ideology.However,since the establishment of the diplomatic relation between the two countries,the bilateral relation in various fields has developed rapidly.National interests provide a theoretical framework for the development of the bilateral relation.Throughout the development of China and Saudi Arabia,both countries are seeking to improve their foreign discourse power on the basis of national power stability.When China and Saudi Arabia jointly improve their political discourse power,the United States spares no effort to suppress the discourse power system of China and Saudi Arabia in order to maintain its monopoly of global discourse power.In terms of security interest demands,China and Saudi Arabia share common interests by jointly opposing terrorism and maintaining regional security.As a factor for regulating variables,US plays multiple roles in the security interest demands of China and Saudi Arabia.China and Saudi Arabia are relatively complementary and have comparative advantages while sharing the same interests in terms of economic demands,giving a significant impact on each other.Regarding cultural interest demands,although they are greatly influenced by American cultural hegemony,China and Saudi Arabia are still highly consistent,and the cultural exchanges between the two countries keep reaching new heights.Congenial Sino-Saudi relation has become a model for cooperation between China and the Middle East and provides a reference for China to develop friendly relations with other parts of the Middle East region.
